National Australian Pipelines was engaged by APA Group to conduct; excavation, integrity assessment, recoating and backfill of the T60 pipeline due to the impact of a future residential waterway and road development in Officer VIC.

National Australian Pipelines was engaged by APA Group to conduct; excavation, integrity assessment, recoating and backfill of the T60 pipeline due to the impact of a future residential waterway and road development in Officer VIC.

The future water weir and road due to be built by the proponent will cross the existing T60 Longford to Dandenong transmission pipeline at a 90 degree angle.

As a direct result of the roadway and waterway development, APA requires further asset integrity and protection prior to the works commencing.

Major activities

Major activities undertaken for this project included:

Provision of construction management plans for the pipeline including; Health and Safety Plan, Site Environmental Management Plan, Quality Plan.
76m of excavation around the T60 Transmission Pipeline whilst the pipeline remained in routine operation.
Comprehensive full length NDT of the pipeline to ensure pipeline and weld integrity.
Abrasive blasting and recoating of the pipeline to ensure adequate coating protection system.
Backfill and compaction in accordance with APA and developer roadway requirements.
