National Australian Pipelines were engaged by Lochard Energy to construct two new pipelines, connecting to the North Paaratte Production Station, near Port Campbell VIC.

National Australian Pipelines were engaged by Lochard Energy to construct two new pipelines, connecting to the North Paaratte Production Station, near Port Campbell VIC.

The Iona Gas Plant (IGP) operated by Lochard Energy located near Port Campbell in south-west Victoria required several stages of upgrades which aim to increase plant capacity. Phase 3 of Project 570 was undertaken to upgrade the gathering line network that connects North Paaratte and Wallaby Creek to Iona.

Works included; Construction and Installation of approximately 4.85 km of DN300 Pipeline and approximately 0.5 km of DN50 MEG Pipeline. Along with laying of approximately 5.35 km of Fibre Optic Cable and installation of 0.5 km of two 240V power supply cables in a common trench as the newly installed pipeline.

Major activities

Major activities undertaken for this project included:

Provision of construction management plans for the pipeline including; Health and Safety Plan, Site Environmental Management Plan, Quality Plan.
Provision of Traffic Management Plans.
Site setup and survey of pipeline alignment.
Land Liaison with property owners.
Identification and potholing of existing assets and utilities using Non-Destructive Digging (NDD).
Clearing and grading of construction corridor.
Pipeline stringing and welding of DN330 and DN50 Pipelines.
Excavation of trench utilising excavator and trencher.
HDD of significant roadways and assets where required.
Special crossings of SEA Gas, Beach and Lochard existing assets.
