National Australian Pipelines were engaged by APA to construct a 160m pipeline offtake as part of the Lovely Banks CTM Station Works.

Lovely Banks CTM Station Works.

The Lovely Banks CTM Station is an offtake from the T092 500NB Lara to Iona Pipeline with 160 meters of Transmission Pressure Service line into the new Lovely Banks City Gate Compound.

The Lovely Banks CTM Station includes a 150NB metering skid with a Coriolis meter and associated RTU and Telemetry equipment.

The pipeline connection provide a supply line for AusNet Services to link to the meter skid outlet and
install a water bath heater and regulators.

This will connect to a new distribution main to supply a new development at Lovely Banks. The offtake will be 150mm NB Class 600 pipeline that will extend from the T092 Lara to Iona Pipeline, running south within a proposed TP Service easement directly into the new Lovely Banks City Gate Compound. It then connects to the new above ground 150NB Metering skid in the Lovely Banks City
Gate compound.

Major activities

Major activities undertaken for this project included:

Provision of construction management plans for the pipeline including; Health and Safety Plan, Site Environmental Management Plan, Quality Plan.
Site setup and survey of pipeline alignment.
Identification and potholing of existing assets and utilities using Non-Destructive Digging (NDD).
Coating of joints and unprotected steel to ensure the integrity of the pipeline. Coating tested with a Holiday Detector.
Backfilling of pipeline using APA approved materials that met the specification provided in the contract.
Installation of cathodic protection (CP) point and several marker posts as required by APA.
Pigging, gauging and hydro testing the new mains to a minimum pressure in accordance with AS2885.5-2016.
