National Australian Pipelines was engaged by APA Group to conduct; excavation, integrity assessment, recoating, concrete slabbing installation and backfill of the T1 pipeline due to the impact of a future residential development in Clyde North VIC.

National Australian Pipelines was engaged by APA Group to conduct; excavation, integrity assessment, recoating, concrete slabbing installation and backfill of the T1 pipeline due to the impact of a future residential development in Clyde North VIC.

Multiple road crossings identified as part of the Honour Village development required a review of the proposed design and a requirement to ensure adequate pipeline protection for the T1 Pipeline from future works.

The area of pipeline impact encompassed the full width of the future road reserve boundary, approximately 58m long.

Major activities

Major activities undertaken for this project included:

Provision of construction management plans for the pipeline including; Health and Safety Plan, Site Environmental Management Plan, Quality Plan.
58m of excavation around the T1 Transmission Pipeline whilst the pipeline remained in routine operation.
Comprehensive full length NDT of the pipeline to ensure pipeline and weld integrity.
Abrasive blasting and recoating of the pipeline to ensure adequate coating protection system.
Installation of concrete slabbing for the width of the road reverse to ensure pipeline penetration mitigation during upcoming development works.
Backfill and compaction in accordance with APA and developer roadway requirements.
