National Australian Pipelines was engaged by APA Group to conduct; excavation, integrity assessment, recoating, concrete slabbing installation and backfill of the T74 pipeline due to the impact of a future residential development in Wollert VIC.

As a direct result of the adjacent residential development, which involves the construction of a new dual direction roadway being built over the APA pipeline at a 45-degree angle, APA requires further asset integrity and protection prior to the works commencing.

Major activities

Major activities undertaken for this project included:

Provision of construction management plans for the pipeline including; Health and Safety Plan, Site Environmental Management Plan, Quality Plan.
105m of excavation around the T74 Transmission Pipeline whilst the pipeline remained in routine operation.
Comprehensive full length NDT of the pipeline to ensure pipeline and weld integrity
Abrasive blasting and recoating of the pipeline to ensure adequate coating protection system
Installation of concrete side slabbing to ensure pipeline penetration mitigation during upcoming development works
Backfill and compaction in accordance with APA and developer roadway requirements
