National Australian Pipelines was engaged by APA Group to conduct; excavation, integrity assessment, recoating and backfill of the T120 and T54 pipeline due to the impact of a future road development as part of the West Gate Tunnel Project, Laverton North.
As part of the West Gate Tunnel Project, the West Gate Freeway required widening, which includes the widening of the Kororoit Creek bridge.
The pipelines involved are the T120 Brooklyn-Qenos Pipeline, T54 Brooklyn – Kororoit Pipeline as well as the Melbourne Water Brooklyn-Galvin-Laverton water main, and three suspended BOC pipelines.
These works were split into two sections, completing the recoating for the Northern side, and for the
Southern side.
The area of pipeline impact encompassed the full width of the future extension to the road reserve boundary, approximately 102m long.
